The 2013 Ninja 250R was a redesign of the parallel-twin 250R, with a new 249 cc engine that has sleeveless die-cast cylinders and a new exhaust. Kawasaki added the dual throttle valves it uses on its larger ZX models, a stiffer diamond frame with softer springs for town use, and styling that borrows from the bigger Ninjas. Wheels, a 140 mm rear tyre and an instrument panel with an analogue tachometer and LCD were also updated.
